This Problem may be due to the Following 2 reasons:
1. One possible reason may be the IDE cable/ power cable not plugged properly. That can be fixed by pressing the cable into the drive.
2. The second may be due to some misconfiguration in the registry caused by some software. For such case, the following values can be copied to notepad, and saving the file as a “drive.reg” file and merging it with the registry.
